My Quilts

Quilt 011 – Aubrey

It has been a while since I have posted! Mostly just because I couldn’t really post the next two quilts since they are Christmas presents for my niece and nephew.

It took a long time to find a design I really liked for Aubrey’s quilt. I knew she wanted pink. She loves pink. I found a quilt on pinterest that I absolutely loved, but it was all in purple and blues. Stacy over at Freshly Handmade, made this beautiful Sugar Plum quilt.

I ordered the Kona Color Card so I could start deciding which pink hues I wanted. I decided to go with the following Kona Solid colors:

  • Kona Cotton – Corsage
  • Kona Cotton – Ballerina
  • Kona Cotton – Violet
  • Kona Cotton – Melon
  • Kona Cotton – Camellia
  • Kona Cotton – Bubble Gum
  • Kona Cotton – Azalea
  • Kona Cotton – Carnation
  • Kona Cotton – Candy Pink

The Border is Moda Essential Dots – Hot Pink, and the back is Missouri Star Quilt Co. Winterfleece Solids – Rose. I used the variegated pink Aurifil thread.

This was my first quilt to use the Accuquilt cutter! Wow, let me just say, what a timesaver! After I figured out how to position the fabric to get the most triangles out of it, it was a breeze. I used the GO! Equilateral Triangle-4 1/2″ Sides (4 1/4″ Finished). You will want to get the 6×6 Cutting Mat & I used the GO! Fabric Cutter.

To gift this quilt, and quilt 012, I bought cute storage containers they can use in their rooms. Slapped some pretty ribbon, and it was ready to give away!

Below is the finished product… We had a beautiful day after getting 12″ of snow the night before, so I had to get a picture with the tree.
